Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

At this time, SDSU is not able to provide payroll deduction for Commute Share due to the complexity with starting and stopping payroll deductions with the State Controller’s Office. The vanpool coordinator is responsible for ensuring each vanpool participant logs on to their Enterprise portal and makes their own monthly payment each month. Payments can be made directly to Enterprise using a debit or credit card.

Yes! To get started, you’ll need someone who is willing and able to drive and at least four other people to get started. Five people are required to receive the $500/month subsidy from SANDAG. 

Contact Enterprise’s emergency roadside assistance number to request help. Roadside assistance is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Contact information is provided in the glove compartment as well as insurance information (if applicable). You may use your Guaranteed Ride Home benefit from SANDAG in the event of a breakdown while on your way home. 

You may use your Guaranteed Ride Home benefit from SANDAG in the event of an unexpected qualifying event, such as illness, overtime, or other emergency. 

Depending on what is happening, you have multiple resources available to you:

  1. If there is an imminent threat, call 911. 
  2. If you’re safety or wellbeing is threatened by another person in the Commute Share group, it may be best to contact your Human Resources representative for assistance. There are confidential reporting resources available for Whistleblower reporting and/or Title IX reporting of Sexual Misconduct
  3. As long as it is safe for you to do so, address the problem with the person in a respectful manner. If that is not effective or you need more help, you may contact your customer service representative from Enterprise for further assistance. Customer service contact information is provided when the vehicle is delivered.

Enterprise requires a 30 day notice to leave your existing vanpool. Please contact your vanpool captain and customer service representative to notify of those 30 days and to leave your seat. Your seat may be temporarily or permanently replaced depending on the situati

Continued operation of the route is at the discretion of the Driver. If a route does not have sufficient passengers to justify the cost, the route may be canceled. If the Driver no longer wishes to continue the route, another Driver must agree to take over the route for continued operation. 

Yes. SDSU encourages use of daily-choice parking areas for occasional parking needs. More information about daily-choice parking is available here

Yes. Enterprise provides a comprehensive insurance program. Please review your Enterprise agreement for further details. 

The fueling station is open from 6am to 2pm. Parking and Transportation Services will issue the vanpool driver a fuel key after enrollment is complete. If it is not possible for the vehicle to be fueled between 6am and 2pm, an access key can be provided upon request. SDSU does not reimburse for off-site fueling or EV charging at this time. 

Each passenger needs to pay monthly on the Enterprise website. Failure to complete the monthly payment will result in termination of the Commute Share privilege. Autopay is available for those who wish to have payment deducted automatically.
