Student Parking
Student day and overnight permits are available for purchase through the Transportation Portal for eligible students. First-year, on-campus residents will not be permitted to bring a car their first year of study at SDSU. More information is available on the First-Year On-Campus Resident Parking Policy website.
Students Living in On-Campus Residential Communities
Parking & Transportation Services does not manage residential parking for Aztec Shops properties, M@College or The Essential. More information for Aztec Shops parking can be found at https://eva.aztecshops.com/reservedparking/. If you are living at M@College, you may email Trent Martin at [email protected] for more information.
Student Day Permit
- Student day permits are only valid between 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.
- "S" parking stalls are unmarked if the area does not have other permissions present.
- Student permits are not valid in spaces marked as Faculty/Staff (F/S) unless it is after hours (see below).
- Student permits are not valid in spaces marked for Service/Vendor (S/V), Special Permit (SP), Electric Vehicles (EV), or Disabled Person (DP) unless accompanied by a special permit, DMV placard/plate or are actively charging in an EV space located in student parking.
- Student permits are invalid in PayByPhone only locations: P6B, P8 and P10.
- Students may not share the same permit on another student's vehicle.

Student Overnight Permit

Students with an overnight permit can park in any authorized locations stated under the student day permit between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. In addition, student overnight permit holders can park in the following locations 24 hours:

- Student permits are only valid in F/S locations during the following times:

Students who purchase a semester vehicle permit can obtain a free motorcyle permit through the Transportation Portal.
Fee Proration & Refund Schedule
Permit costs will be prorated per the University's proration schedule.
The amount of the refund is rounded down to the nearest dollar. Refunds will not be approved for amounts of $5 or less. The schedule of refunds refers to calendar days, commencing on the date of the term when instruction begins.
Please note: Your refund credit will first be applied to any outstanding debt with the university.

Parking Waiver
Setion 42201 of Title 5, California Code of Regulations, provides for the waiver of campus parking fees for students with disabilities who have been issued a DMV placard or license plate, and who meet low income requirements. For further information regarding eligibility, contact the Student Disability Services.
